I would like to thank everyone at Middleton Fishery for a fantastic days fishing made all the better by my youngest daughter Nicole Age 9 catching her First ever Rainbow Trout at 2lbs 9oz.
For those fishermen/women present on the day you might have seen her playing the fish as if she was playing a Great White, But the smile on her face and the stories afterwards made our day, like all true fishermen/women the fish is now the size of her mum.
Thanks again for a fantastic day and we are all waiting for our next visit to see how many Nicole can catch.

Having been to a few fisheries over the past few years, I came across Middleton on the internet and decided to give it a go with my dad last Wednesday, 24th March. Staff were excellent as were the facilities and the regulars were very friendly and chatty too. Best of all, my dad, who has just taken up fly fishing aged 69!!! Caught 3 nice rainbows and I managed to catch 5 and miss about another 6 along the way !! Our best day out at a fishery by far.
We will definitely be back for all of the above reason and also because the quality of the fish was excellent. Hardest fighting fish I have ever come across in a fishery. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Especially to any old codgers out there who may have reached retirement age. They do a great deal on a Wednesday for you,4 hours fishing, keep the first 2 fish then catch and release. For only £10. Excellent value for money.
See you soon Middleton

Hi Paul,
Just to say thanks, we had a great day today, 66 between us and half as many again dropped. No blanks, although one of the lads only had the one, but he was, shall we say " a bit under the weather ", and went home early. All the fish were in cracking nick, and as far as we were concerned, the perfect size at 2-4lbs. and pulled like trains. Lots of sore arms and shoulders tonight!
Also a special Thank You from the lads to Chris and the lass for looking after us, the bacon butties and tea were just what we needed on a cold morning, and the lunchtime pies went down a treat.
See you again,
Ronnie.

Hi, We would just like to thank the fishery for the outing that the VAC just had, it was fantastic, the fish were all around the loch taken lures, dries, nymphs & buzzers ( MAGIC ) from the start of the day until last thing. The fish are all top class with full tails. The lunch was also great. This has to be one of the best small waters in Scotland, a must for any angler or club. With crystal clear water you can see everything. Please go and give it a try you will love it as many others do. The Vale Angling Club will be back for more........THANKS AGAIN,,,,Scott Young VAC.........

Hi folks
Having taken up fly fishing only last year, I have visited several fisheries in order to sample the fishing and learn a few points. It is important that I comment on the hospitality shown by the staff at Middleton in relation to the provision of food, facilities and the willingness to provide advice on what type of fly to use and the helpful hints on fishing (casting, type of rod to use and how to catch the blooming fish) in general. Both Craig and I have enjoyed a number of good days at Middleton with some positive and negative returns but we have enjoyed the fishing never the less which is the most important aspect. Well done guys.
Regards
Martin and Craig Graham

I recently fished the Middleton Fishery and was more than pleasantly surprisedby the beautiful surroundings and the manicured verges of the reservoir. This alone helps the beginner when he is just starting up the angling scene as there are no obstacles in the way.The angling is top class as the fish are in perfect condition with Middleton Fishery offer avariety of stock fish, all of good fighting weight.
The facilities on hand are very clean and well looked after by the management whom are also very helpful and pleasant, which makes a change from some fisheries I have been to.
The pricing of the fishery is balanced well for the angler, WELL DONE.

Hi there I thought I would e-mail you to let you know how Middleton fishery is fishing.. first and foremost I would like to inform other fishermen about the new setup at Middleton. the two new guy's Owner Paul & Manager Gary who have took over have made a huge difference to the whole place .. there is a new Lodge which has a proper kitchen serving really good hot rolls with a variety of fillings , snacks and hot tea and coffee all day . there are also proper toilet facilities . The guy's make you feel most welcome .. anyway now onto the serious side of things. I have made two visits within the last two weeks and had a load of fish on a catch and release ticket. the fish are without doubt grade 1 fish judging by the way they fight. they have been averaging around 3 to 4lb . the stocking policy in place must be good as the twice i have been just about everyone has been getting there share of fish. I have mainly caught on buzzers but other anglers have been doing well on various lure patterns. Prices at the fishery are very reasonable and the place is definitely worth a visit . The fishery opens at 8am every day.
